This is a great low-key activity to practice soccer dribbling. I think I saw it first on pecentral.com , but couldn't find it again when I was trying to link it here. It fits Primary-aged children (3-6), as well as first to third grade students. It can be a good warm-up activity during a soccer unit.
When given directions I always emphasize the importance of the skill in the game, and how you can always get better at dribbling. I tell students that if they are just starting to learn, they should focus on going slow and being in control. Then I say that when they feel confident, they should start taking their eyes away from the ball by looking up. This way it eliminates students' comments like: "I don't know how to dribble!" (me: that is why we start slow and practice), or: " I already know how to dribble!" (me: great! now challenge yourself by looking up and not at the ball!").
You can downlead HERE the the direction poster for the activity and cards to attach to the cones. I used canva.com to make these cards.
